Gorilla Dawn
A film for Gill Lewis and Oxford University Press
Bestselling children’s author Gill Lewis reveals how modern smartphones connect us all to the fate of the gorilla in the Democratic Republic of Congo and talks about the inspiration behind her new novel, ‘Gorilla Dawn’, with Bandi Mbubi from Congo Calling
Park6 worked with Riot Communications and Gill Lewis in organising the filming of an informal interview between Gill and Bandi Mbubi where they explored the issues with coltan mining in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The resulting footage was cut into a series of short films for Oxford University Press used to promote the book ‘Gorilla Dawn’ and the campaigns it supports
“Park 6 were an absolute joy to work with, they were creative and professional at all points – from discussion of the original idea through to the final edit. On location, they also managed to create an incredibly supportive and relaxed environment which meant that we got beautiful, naturally lit results in circumstances that would, in other hands, have been far more challenging. They were flexible, fun to work with and also doubled up with both high-quality footage and excellent stills photography so provided very good value for money. Highly recommended.”
